Lobos Land Holden for Upcoming SeasonUniversity of New Mexico men's soccer head coach Jeremy Fishbein announced the addition of Euan Holden to the Lobos for the upcoming season. Holden joins UNM's 11-member recruiting class as a transfer from UCONN. He will be a junior with two years of eligibility at New Mexico.5/9/2008
Boyens Signs With Major League Soccer's New York Red BullsRed Bull New York announced this week that former Lobo All-American Andrew Boyens (2004-06) has signed with Major League Soccer to play for the Red Bulls, pending receipt of his P-1 visa. Boyens was a first round draft pick by Toronto FC in 2007 but was waived by the team in April. He was the 2004 and 2006 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Year while leading New Mexico to three straight conference titles.4/30/2008
Lobos Fall to the Rapids 4-2The University of New Mexico men's soccer team ended its spring season with a 4-2 loss against Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids in Denver, Colo. today. The Lobos got a pair of goals from rising senior Jack Smithson in the losing effort, moving their spring record to 4-1-1. New Mexico will now turn its focus to the 2008 regular season opener against San Diego on August 29.4/29/2008
Lobos Take on the Colorado Rapids WednesdayThe University of New Mexico men's soccer team travels to Denver, Colo., for a match against the Colorado Rapids of Major League Soccer on Wednesday, April 30, at 11:00 a.m. (M.D.T.). The Lobos are looking for their second straight win over the Rapids at Dick's Sporting Goods Park, having won last year's match 2-0 on April 11. P.J. Lobos-Indios Soccer Match CancelledThe University of New Mexico men's soccer match against the Juarez Indios scheduled for Sunday, April 20, was cancelled and no make-up date was set. The Lobos will play their final spring match against Major League Soccer's Colorado Rapids in Denver, Colo., on Wednesday, April 30, at 10:00 a.m. (M.D.T.). UNM is 4-0-1 in spring action this season. |
